WELCOME TO PIGEON HILL STUDIOS

CUSTOM PICTURE FRAMING
GALLERY & ART STUDIO

When one door closes, another opens: Lambert's Framing and Art Gallery was a fixture in downtown Bedford for over 30 years. When their door closed for business in the Spring of 2016, it became an opportunity to have Pigeon Hill Studios open a new door. With 32 years in the art industry, it is our intention to continue providing best quality framing products and customer service people experienced with Lambert's Framing.

Instead of taking a turn-key approach, the decision was made to completely renovate the largely unused rear section of the building and open a studio space. The 2,300 SF studio will be a place where people can come to take painting, drawing, and wheel-thrown & hand-built pottery classes. We will host workshops with guest artists and special fund-raisers. In addition, there will be a gallery space where students can Show and Sell their work.

That's the plan. Let's see what it becomes!

WHAT WE OFFER

We are an art studio and custom frame shop. We offer a creative space for people who want to learn and create their own art as well as for people who are looking to create in an atmosphere with peers.

ABOUT US:

A LITTLE BACKGROUND

The inspiration behind Pigeon Hill Studio is my own experience in needing a creative workspace. It's more than a space: It's the ability to allow oneself to be immersed into the creative mode without the distractions that come from working in typical home environment. The studio allows for peer feedback, inspiration, and the encouragement to push yourself beyond your self-imposed limits.

This is a space for people to come and enjoy the company of others while creating. This is a space for kids to grow and develop their talent. This is a space where you can block out a few hours a week for yourself and work on your creative projects.

Stop by to see what we are about and let us inspire your inner artist.

A LITTLE INSIGHT

I've been drawing and creating art since I can remember. My earliest memory is when I was four years old, I drew a nude of my mother. Art was my talent and the most obvious career path for me. I won numerous awards from grade school on to professional levels. For me, I have the best job in the world.

MY GRAPHIC DESIGN BACKGROUND

I have a Bachelors from Indiana University of PA with a focus on Graphic Design. I have been in the design industry since 1986 and have an extensive portfolio ranging from corporate graphics, architectural and cartography drawings, gaming & toy packaging, museum graphics, signs, logos, t-shits, illustrations, and all the print materials you can imagine.

MY FINE ART BACKGROUND

I longed to paint and I had rarely picked up a paintbrush since college. It wasn't until a series of events inspired me to do so and I enrolled in a class at the Foundry Art School in Everett with Robin & Mouse Grass. It is they who encouraged me and the classmates continue to inspire me. They gave me the confidence I needed to adopt a "can do" attitude. Thank you.

CLAY MOSAICS

When you open yourself up to the possibility, good things happen: My client initially wanted a logo design for their new business and as the creative relationship grew, a commissioned mosaic was created. This experience allowed me to continue to create clay mosaics. Several installations will be occurring in 2018 in Downtown Bedford.
